We are working as freelance photographers, alternative photographic printers, graphic artists and teaching in gum bichromate printing and digital imaging in schools as well as holding private workshops, furthermore we exhibit frequently.

We have been busy with photography since the beginning of the 1970's. During the years we have taken part of several photographic workshops, both in Sweden and abroad. Hans has been employed as a photographer and is also educated in and has worked with graphic arts. Chia has a BFA in photography from the University of Gothenburg as well as a project year at the same university. We have also taken part in several photographic courses at the university as well as in aesthetics subjects.

 

 

We started exploring alternative photographic processes in 1984. We had no idea that it would involve so much work. Or that it would yield so many possibilities.

At that time we were looking for something we could use for our color tranparencies. We thought that the three color carbon process and the four color gum bichromate process might provide the answer. We had never seen any carbons in color and did not know what they actually looked like.

Learning the three color carbon process proved to be an enormous task. During many years experiments and research were our constant companions. Today we make our own carbon tissues. We call our carbons: PictoChrome.
