Ginger Sheridan

solo show: september 2003 - march 2004

Ginger's work in her present show has been done in 2001-2002. Ginger Sheridan states, after reading "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men" by J. Agee and Walker Evans:

I decided that I wanted to record some of my own experience of the 'cruel radiance' of life. I chose to photograph the places I live because, though I take great comfort from my personal living spaces, I am always moving on. I wanted to record the almost unbearable beauty of the places so I could remember what I had left.

I have now continued this body of work for over ten years. These images are my most recent efforts, shot the last two years while living in Brussels, Belgium, Paris & Lille, France,Florence, Italy and Neptune Beach, Florida. They are all shot with a large format camera, Polaroid film and printed with palladium on drawing paper.
